New Age Boredom is the four-song follow-up and preview to Adam & Dave's Bloodline's most recent sound, a little bit of a walk from the Rolling Stones'-ish takes the band had on their debut s/t album that was released last year. The boys are keeping 'mum' on what songs will actually be included on their forthcoming album release, but each of the songs here should be a keeper for your collection, regardless. A strong forerunner, the song "Hard to Know" starts the bunch, and with its winding-tale lyrics, strong vocals and twangy electric guitar, it stands up to the more troubadour and jam-style of the track "Missing Person". "Runt" is punkier with a chorus that begs to be shouted, and is one that could easily end up on the band's list for a quick live-set closer. The ending track, "The Simple Life" is easy without being repetitive, and with its upbeat rhythm and hand-claps it becomes this collection's most catchy track. New Age Boredom was recorded in Germantown at Philadelphia Recording Service and mixed by Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man-Man, etc.). Catch Adam & Dave's Bloodline on Monday August 11th at Tritone when they play with Controllar, an electro-duo from The Netherlands (similar to the strangeness of CocoRosie) who are on their first tour of the US throughout the month of August.
