When members Matthew Dublin (guitar) and Darren Beckett (drums) (both formerly of Ambulance, LTD.) grew tired of playing for everyone but themselves, they decided to chuck it all in for something new--well sort of. Their splashy guitar-pop and synth-keyboard sound is reminiscent of '90s Brit-pop, but it also has the romantic pop-feeling of the soul and shoulder-baring '80s ("It's true romance when we touch, t-touch" - You're So Cold). And taking their inspiration from the likes of Roxy Music all the way down to The Smiths, and The Simple Minds (but don't let this last one get out!) the new band has a big sound that's infectious, ambitious, incredibly dig-able, and yeah; really, fresh and fun. We're not talking about a Doublemint commercial here, but we'll roll with it! Supported by Adam Chilenski (bass), Wes Carnes (keyboards), and Irina Yalkowsky (guitar), their live show has already received raves. Chosen as the main act to support The Killers on their cross-country arena tour this past year and even occasionally popping up as a backing group for lead-singer Flowers (Killers), the band is already making a name for themselves. Touring in the UK for a few dates after playing NYC and then headed back around these parts in late April, we're hoping for more from them soon! And with their leading track from their first s/t EP, "One Shot" starting them off, they're well into taking it--

Hi MM,
Word on the street is that The Red Romance have an album planned for the coming Fall of '08. They're looking for labels still, so hopefully we'll have some news to look forward to in the coming months - cheers!
