A special on-the-scene report from Girl About Town photographer Lauren Trzaska:

The Electric Factory was certainly full of electricity this past evening as Ani DiFranco whipped the crowd into a frenzy! Blasting through old favorite's such as "Little Plastic Castle" and, the most popular sing-along, "Fuck You (Untouchable Face)" she mixed in some new songs, which Ani described as "happy." I'm pretty sure the screams of the ecstatic, predominantly female crowd were able to be heard from outside!

Throughout the show, Ani made it clear that the entire band was very pleased to be back in Philly and even though she is not now, or has ever been, "a hot, new thing," the local scene has constantly been a huge supporter of her. Her energy level mixed with that of the crowd lifted things to a whole new level! Dreadlocks bounced from shoulders, hands were thrown in the air, hugs were given, smiles were everywhere! Grrrl music is alive and well in Philly! "Quick, someone call the girl police and file a report!"
