It may have been North Mississippi All Stars, playing acoustic at World Cafe Live. Going into the show with a friend who dragged me along, there was a hundred things I thought I'd hate about them, but somehow their musicality won me over. I'd probably never go see them again - it still seems like a night when all the stars aligned - but they were surprisingly great.

Favorite show of 2007? Has to be The Mountain Goats at The North Star Bar for me - meeting John Darnielle and Peter Hughes was awesome, and even though I was running around all night, those guys made me stop and take notice when they played to a sold out crowd - amazing! This past weekend's Caterpillar/Photon Band/Trolleyvox @ JB's was amazing as well! At the top of my list for a great show!
